UpThink Your Life
Connect the dots by understanding why you think, feel and act in the way that you do
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is an effective way to create change by working with the part of the mind that holds habits, emotional patterns, beliefs, and automatic responses. It helps you access a calm, focused state where your mind becomes more open to insight, healing, and new possibilities.
My approach to hypnotherapy is trauma‑aware, grounded, and deeply collaborative. With over 20 years’ experience as a psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, NLP trainer and mental‑health educator, I use hypnotherapy as a practical tool to support emotional regulation, behavioural change, and deeper self‑understanding.
I personally like to demystify Hypnotherapy and inform you as much as possible as to what it is. You could think of it is as a type of deep relaxation with a specific goal. Whilst your conscious mind is resting, your unconscious does the work. We can retrain and rewire our brain though learning and changing our thoughts, feelings and actions, but with Hypnotherapy, we can retrain the brain rapidly
Hypnotherapy is not about losing control, it’s about gaining access to the inner resources you already have. You remain aware, comfortable, and in charge throughout the process. Together, we use guided imagery, focused attention, and therapeutic suggestion to help your mind shift out of old patterns and into healthier, more supportive ones.
Hypnotherapy can be used on its own or integrated into psychotherapy sessions.

How Sessions Work
Hypnotherapy sessions begin with a conversation to understand what you’re experiencing and what you want to change. We then move into a guided process tailored to your need. Sessions may include:
-
Breath‑based or somatic induction
-
Gentle deepening techniques
-
Guided imagery and metaphor
-
Ego‑strengthening and confidence building
-
Parts work and inner‑child resourcing
-
Reframing and cognitive shifts
-
Post‑hypnotic suggestions for daily life
-
Future pacing (rehearsing new behaviours or responses)
Every session is paced carefully, with safety and comfort at the centre. You are never pushed into anything; the work unfolds at a speed that feels right for you.
